Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru (片田舎のおっさん、剣聖になる), also known as From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, is an anime series based on the light novel of the same name written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. The story follows Beryl Gardinant, a humble countryside swordsmanship instructor who reluctantly moves to the capital to become an instructor for the kingdom’s knights, only to discover his former pupils have all become legendary warriors.
